In a 5 by 7-foot area for With and Without Camille (Claudel), I carefully arranged a diverse array of materials to evoke a narrative roam. Among these were beach sand and repurposed stenciled fish bowls adorned with fishnet patterns reminiscent of my 2012 Installation at the Art and Culture Center in Hollywood, FL, entitled 'Trawler.' Complementing these elements were photo prints showcasing the captivating artwork of Camille Claudel, set against a small cardboard backdrop.

The performance unfolded with a deliberate yet simple choreography. I began by transferring sand from one bowl to another, seamlessly blending it with seawater to create a textured, wet mixture. This act symbolized a transformative process, mirroring the fluidity and evolution inherent in artistic expression.

Throughout the performance, the sequence of photo prints of the sculptor’s creations served as visual anchors, guiding viewers. Each image transitioned between states of 'with' and 'without,' inviting contemplation on the presence and absence of Camille Claudel's influence.

Through this luring experience, I aimed to provoke introspection on the interplay between artistic inspiration and individual creativity. The juxtaposition of materials and imagery encouraged viewers to reflect on their artistic journey, prompting questions about influence, adaptation, and the inherent power of interpretation.
